Wild Food

This course begins with a short introduction on what to look for and a brief of the general countryside codes and where they relate to foragers. You will then set off on a roughly 2.5 hour walk around the park, whilst being taught how to identify the different Summer shoots, plants, flowers and hopefully mushrooms that you find. There will be a break along the way for some homemade refreshments such as hogweed and wild garlic soup.

After the walk you will end the day with a tasty wild food lunch based on what you have found. This will include some treats made from recent finds, a wild salad picked on the day and possibly some wild garlic pesto. After the course, you will recieve an email with a list of everything discussed on the walk to help you to remember what you have learnt.

Queen Elizabeth Country Park is situated just north of Waterlooville. With the A272 to the North and the A27 to the South, it is within easy reach from Portsmouth, Winchester, Chichester, Fareham and Eastleigh.

This impressive 1,400 acre Country Park sits in the midst of the South Downs and includes a mixture of open grassland, dramatic downland and vast woodlands. Opened by The Queen in 1976, the park was once called Buriton Forest and hosts the highest point on the South Downs National Park at Butser Hill.

There are limited spaces available so please book your tickets online.
