Discover an indoor rain forest paradise with free flying butterflies, tropical birds, creepy crawlies and reptiles. Green Iguanas, terrapins, ducks and leaf cutter ants are free to roam. There’s a world of mini beasts – chameleons, caterpillars, beetles, bugs, stick insects, snakes and glow-in-the-dark scorpions in the Nocturnal Room.
Outside, you can meet our lively family of meerkats. Their mansion was purpose built to allow the meerkats to behave as naturally as possible, climbing around, digging among sand and rocks and using the large boulders as lookout points. See them in their underground den through the viewing window. You might also see our two African crested porcupines.
Explore Lemur Heights on our state of the art large walk through enclosure. The ring-tailed and red ruffed lemurs can climb around on the ropes and large trees and run around their large enclosure, which they share with rare great crested newts, birds and insects.
Down in the barn, goats, chickens, ducks, geese and rabbits are waiting to say hello. In spring, you’re likely to find goat kids clambering around and causing mayhem.
Join us at otter springs to find out more about these adorable animals or watch our amazing parrots as they play basketball, skateboard, ride a bike and talk to you. See our free flying bird displays featuring owls, macaws and spectacular birds of prey from around the world
There’s a play park and activity centre as well as a café, picnic areas and a gift shop. Themed events take place throughout the year – check our What’s On section for more information.
