About

Unlock the splendour within the finest Georgian townhouse in England. A classical architectural masterpiece of the 18th Century featuring exceptional stuccowork, Fairfax House was the winter home of Viscount Fairfax. Its richly decorated interior was designed by York's most distinguished architect, John Carr. Today, Fairfax House reveals the elegance of city living in Georgian York. The superb collection of 18th Century furniture, clocks, paintings and decorative arts perfectly complements the house, bringing it to life and creating a special lived-in feeling. With an exciting programme of events and exhibitions, there is always a reason to come and savour Fairfax House.
