About

Chartwell was the family home of Sir Winston Churchill from 1924 until the end of his life and remains much as it was when he lived there. The principle rooms of the house are shown largely as they were in Chartwell's heyday - the 1920s and 30s - and contain personal memorabilia, books and family photographs.
The beautiful terraced gardens command breathtaking views over the Weald of Kent and visitor can see the newly-restored and productive kitchen garden. The gardens also contain the lakes Sir Winston created and Lady Churchill's Rose Garden. Many of Churchill's paintings can be seen in the garden studio.

The National Trust has a variety of holiday cottages to rent dotted around the county. For full details, go to nationaltrust.org.uk/holidays.
