This award-winning house & garden was the Jacobean country seat of founder of Maryland, George Calvert. ‘Gothic’ wing added in 1820s & redesigned in 1887 by W.E. Nesfield. This intriguing property is now furnished as a comfortable Victorian home with an eclectic mix of previous owners’ furniture & personalia, plus enough original 16th-19th century paintings to fill a small gallery. Special Exhibition - ‘The Creative Life of Bridget Talbot’. Attractive gardens, productive walled garden, woodland/ lakeside walks & small garden museum. Tea room serving homemade scones, cakes & lunches. Family fun - activity room, play ship, garden games, dipping pond, croquet, natural play-area, table tennis & more!
