About

Every room is packed with magnificent treasures - antique furniture and books including Henry VIII's prayer book. The gardens have changed over the centuries but the original box parterre and 4 conical yew shapes remain from the mid 18th century. The gardens now contain a wonderful flower garden with fountain by Giles Rayner, the Gothic Revival orangery built to celebrate the Millennium and the arbour completed to mark the Jubilee celebrations. Guided tours of the house are available except on Bank Holidays when it is free flow. The gardens may be enjoyed at leisure.

No photography in the house. The house has limited disabled access and is not suitable for wheelchairs as there are stairs. The garden is flat with gravel paths and ramp to disabled toilets. Tours of the house are in small guided groups but are free flow on Bank Holiday weekends. No dogs except guide dogs or assistance dogs (in gardens only).
