Take a stroll through our beautiful gardens with views of the River Lowther, visit our animals and enjoy something delicious in our Kitchen Garden Café.

Askham Hall Gardens are a must visit! The 12 acres are full of stunning features, including colourful terraces and 230ft long double herbaceous borders, formal lawns, kitchen gardens, woodland, meadows and ponds. Take in the impressive views down to the River Lowther and enjoy the secluded spots and peaceful corners of the garden. You can also buy plants to take home. All the produce we grow and rear at Askham Hall is used in our café, pub and restaurant.

Kitchen Garden Café
Visit our lovely café for morning coffee, a light lunch or tea and cake. You can relax in front of our log burning stove or enjoy the sunshine in our secluded garden. During spring and summer (peak times only) you can enjoy a pizza from our wood-fired oven and our homemade icecreams.

Animals and children's play area
Askham Hall is home to rare-breed pigs and goats, free range chickens and ducks - many of which you can see from our animal viewing and children's play area.

Nearby walks and outdoor activities
Askham Hall café is a perfect base for walking, running, cycling and other outdoor activities and sports. Routes take you across fields, through woodland, along rivers and up fells.

Guided group tours by arrangement.
Free parking.
Unfortunately we do not allow dogs in the garden.

Our animal viewing area and secret wooded garden trails makes it great for kids. Please note that the restaurant is open in the evening and not all of the facilities are available there, some are only applicable to the cafe.

Guide Prices
