The Cookie Jar

About

The Cookie Jar, a cosy retreat in the heart of Alnwick. Formerly the Convent of Mercy, this historical building has been tastefully renovated into 11 luxurious rooms and suites, and offers all the home comforts you could need with an added little bit of unexpected cookie-ness.

We’re all about the comforts - so we’ve made sure we offer all the important features that make all the difference to your stay with us.

We offer safe storage for your guns and the Snug is perfect for your after-pursuit tipple. Our outdoor terrace makes for a delightful al fresco afternoon tea and sunset beverage.

We also offer kennels to keep your canines cosy for the duration.

The Cookie Jar has 11 individual bedrooms ranging in size and character from intimate and cosy to large and spacious. Each has its own unique character and are named taking inspiration from the local area and the places that the Cook family hold close to their hearts. Designed with absolute comfort in mind, you’ll find tactile furnishings, both classic and modern details, special features including exquisite artwork from local artists on the walls, and all the little luxuries you could want for a cosy retreat to make you feel right at home.
