Discover Painshill: An 18th-Century Landscape Garden Masterpiece
Painshill is an award-winning 18th-century landscape garden where visitors are invited to walk around a living work of art. Winding paths guide you through woodland, around the Serpentine Lake, and past striking garden buildings, including the Ruined Abbey, Gothic Temple, and Turkish Tent. With every turn, you’ll discover picture-perfect views that make Painshill a true photographer’s paradise.
A Vision Inspired by Landscape Painting
Created between 1738 and 1773 by the Honourable Charles Hamilton, Painshill reflects the drama and beauty of landscape painting brought to life. From the sparkling Crystal Grotto to the enchanting Gothic Tower, each unique structure celebrates a different architectural style. Other highlights include the Waterwheel, a hidden Hermitage, and the Painshill Vineyard, all set within a Grade I listed historic garden.
