Background information:

Nestled at the foot of the South Downs in East Sussex, Firle Place been the cherished home of the Gage family for over 500 years. Originally built in the late 15th century by Sir John Gage, a trusted counsellor of Henry VIII, the manor underwent significant remodelling in the 18th century. The exterior, crafted from Caen stone, reflects the grandeur of a French château, while the interior retains its Tudor charm, centred around a traditional courtyard.

A Rich Tapestry of Art and Antiques

The estate houses an exceptional collection of Old Master paintings, including works by Van Dyck, Reynolds, and Gainsborough. Complementing these masterpieces are fine English and European furniture pieces, along with an impressive array of Sèvres porcelain, offering visitors a glimpse into the opulence of the past

Set within its own parkland, Firle Place is surrounded by the natural beauty of the South Downs. The estate features meticulously maintained gardens that showcase a variety of plant species, providing a tranquil setting for visitors to explore and enjoy.

Firle Place provides a stunning backdrop for filming, photography, and private hire. From its elegant Courtyard to the grand Great Hall, each space offers unique character and period charm, ideal for movies, television productions, or photo shoots.
