Step back into the elegance and gentle pleasures of a Victorian summer as Kentwell’s Victorian family throw open the lawns for a delightful Garden Party at the Hall. Beneath fluttering bunting and shaded by ancient trees, guests are invited to experience a leisurely afternoon exactly as it would have unfolded in the 19th century complete with tea served on the lawn, lively conversation, and the gentle strains of period music drifting through the gardens.
Watch (or join!) as croquet hoops are set out with friendly rivalry, tennis matches are played in long whites, and traditional Victorian games entertain young and old alike. The more adventurous may try their hand at boating, or even observe the brave taking a genteel dip as Victorian bathing customs are brought vividly to life.
With the household staff busily ensuring everything runs smoothly, this is living history at its most charming a celebration of refinement, recreation, and family fun in truly beautiful surroundings.

Kentwell Hall Long Melford can be easily accessed from the M11 motorway (junctions 7 or 8) or the A14. From the A14, take the A134 south towards Sudbury/Long Melford. Follow signs for Long Melford village and then turn onto the A1092; the hall is well-signposted on the north side of the village.
