Belle Vue & Gorton FREE Family Fun Day returns to The Monastery Manchester for a joyful celebration of local heritage, with free entry and activities for all ages.
This much-loved community event brings the spirit of Belle Vue — once known as the “Showground of the World” — back to life through a vibrant mix of entertainment, exhibitions and family-friendly experiences.
Visitors can enjoy a relaxed day exploring Belle Vue’s rich history through talks, memorabilia and archive film footage, alongside live performances from Gorton Voice Choir and Tintwistle Brass Band. A vintage bus, children’s funfair, arts and crafts, face painting, and a variety of stalls add to the lively, welcoming atmosphere.
Set within the stunning grounds of The Monastery, the event combines playful outdoor activities with a unique heritage setting, offering something for both those who remember Belle Vue and those discovering its story for the first time.
An optional interactive animal handling experience is also available, giving visitors the chance to meet a range of animals up close. This activity requires advance booking and an additional charge.
Taking place on Sunday 28 June 2026, from 11:00am to 3:30pm, the event is free to attend, with complimentary tickets required for general entry. Donations are welcomed in support of The Monastery Charitable Trust.
