Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal are entering an exciting new phase as the Studley Revealed project begins, a £5.8 million investment designed to enhance one of the busiest areas of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
From 7 September, the Studley Royal tea‑room and the entrance between the deer park and water garden will close while construction gets underway. The HACS Group will lead the works, returning more than 40 years after helping restore Studley Lake.
Once complete, visitors can look forward to a more accessible café, improved admissions, better facilities, new interpretation spaces and the restoration of historic views that have been lost over time.
The estate will remain open throughout the project, with access via the Visitor Centre and West Gate. Studley car park and toilets will also stay open. The new Studley Lodge is expected to open in winter 2027/28.
