Enjoy a pleasant stroll around the Mere, with opportunities for bird-watching and fishing, or why not picnic beneath the birch and oak woodland?

The path is circular around the Mere and wide throughout. Surfaces are firm and even. There is some loose stone within the car park so it can be a little bumpy there.

Relax on the numerous benches situated around the route – there are also picnic tables near both car parks. A number of fishing platforms suitable for wheelchair access are available.

The Mere is stocked with carp, bream, roach and perch and leased by Lymm Angling Club. Day permits are available on the bank.

Visitor Information

The Mere is located off the B5081 and B5082.

The main car park is off Northwich Road and is free. An additional free car park is off the B5081.

Car park closes 8.00pm (summer) and 5.00pm (winter).

Public toilets, including an accessible toilet (with RADAR lock) are located at the main car park.

No refreshments are available on site, but there is a public house, “The Three Greyhounds” nearby, at the junction of the B5081 and B5082.
