Sherborne Walks offers professional guided walks and tours throughout Wiltshire, Dorset and Somerset.
Based in Sherborne, we specialise in guiding around this historic town and the surrounding area, delving a little deeper into the stories, characters and people that make the area so fascinating.
As local guides we can add extra depth and enjoyment as you explore the towns - it can make a big difference! In two hours, we can unlock 1300 years of history, help you meet local characters and take you on a journey back through time. A great way to start a day visit to the town after which you can explore a range of attractions.
Sherborne has a beautiful Abbey, two castles [Old Castle English Heritage and New Sherborne Castle], the Museum, countryside walks, the chance to explore the range of independent shops, cafes, tea rooms, restaurants, or maybe experience arts or music events. You can be as quiet or as busy as you want.
Shaftesbury, Dorchester, Weymouth, Bridport and Wimborne have just as interesting, but different, highlights. The choice is yours and Paul can meet you at any of these towns for a guided tour.
You may prefer us to accompany you on a coach / mini-bus tour as we provide a commentary to help you understand the mosaic of West Country landscapes. Visit Glastonbury Tor and Wells Cathedral, explore the unique landscape of the Somerset Levels; take in the stunning country estates of Montacute House and Barrington Court in South Somerset, experience Stourhead and Kingston Lacy …. or even explore the World Heritage Jurassic coast and Stonehenge locations. All are within one hour drive from Sherborne. Groups are responsible for organising their own transport.
We are experienced high-quality Blue Badge guides who are the official tourist guides of the United Kingdom. We wear a Blue Badge to indicate our professionalism and are recognised by local tourist bodies throughout the UK, including Visit Britain and Visit Dorset.
We can help you enjoy your visit by providing guided walks, ideas of what else to do and where to visit. We are proud to be Dorset Ambassadors.
We believe the personal touch is what will make your visit special.
