You are here: About Us
Visit Heritage is a hub for businesses and consumers alike. We have created a point of reference and research for all of our members and, as a result, our partners benefit from the publicity by receiving increased exposure online and in print, promoting higher levels of engagement. Our website hosts content that is created by people in the heritage industry. This gives our members relevant and useful articles that are worth reading. Partner this with a detailed and robust directory of sites to visit and places to stay, and Visit Heritage becomes the place to go. |
‘We are committed to engaging people in the wonders of heritage, presenting the learning opportunities for all and sharing the fun that the whole family can enjoy at heritage sites across the United Kingdom.…’ ‘…younger people use the web more than their predecessors; we quickly decided that we needed a quality website to raise the profile of UK heritage and encourage more people to become active participants...’ ‘…we want to contribute to educating people about the wonderful places and things that UK heritage has to offer; that is how Visit Heritage came to be.’ |
We support all aspects of Heritage sites in the United Kingdom, regardless of size, location or style. The UK has an amazing wealth of history and diversity that has made this tiny island a place of depth and beauty.
We strongly encourage the education of people of all age groups. We see the value of knowledge; the understanding of the journeys people made over the ages that brought us to where we are today.
We support owners in developing, and improving, a sustainable business so they can continue to preserve our Heritage sites across the UK. This development will help to increase awareness of our Heritage and also preserve its unique landscape for future generations.
‘Visit Heritage is a platform for our partners to promote themselves and interact with our members through engaging content’
We are strong believer in curating good content and good content comes from the source.
Who else is better placed to talk about the fixtures and fittings, the tales and legends, the walks and sights than the homes themselves.
We actively promote our partners submitting articles, features and content that highlight what they have to offer. This content showcases the sites around the UK, promotes Visit Heritage and an information hub and attracts new members.
‘Hudsons’ is the most comprehensive Guide Book of Historic Homes, Castles, Gardens and Heritage Sites throughout United Kingdom. This book is a huge resource for our members to use when looking at what our partners have to offer.
‘Signpost’ is our guide of Boutique Hotels and historical places of interest in United Kingdom. What better than being able to plan you visit or break, knowing that you can source information on nearby places to stay
‘All About Heritage’ is an up and coming series of books for everyone with an interest in Britain’s history. These books will link real places with real events reflecting the reasons that people are inspired to visit particular places.
‘Become a Time Traveller Member and find out more about
what is available in the world of Heritage’
Time Traveller, our thrice annually booklet, brings you in depth information about Britain’s heritage and shows you some of the best places to visit. It has fun stuff too, with a heritage quiz, recipes and pages for children to enjoy.
Each issue has a distinct theme, the focus of the second issue is Gardens in the UK.
Our members will get our ‘Time Traveller’ magazine, giving them access to special offers which are available to ‘Time Traveller Members’ only.
Each year we recognise the places and people who contribute to the world of heritage by holding the UK Heritage Awards.
UK Heritage Awards are open to all historic houses, heritage gardens, museums, galleries in historic buildings, archaeological or industrial sites and all local places featured in Signpost Guides.
