Celebrating 800 Years of Saint Francis

Join us as we celebrate the 800-year legacy of Saint Francis of Assisi, whose message of peace, compassion and care for creation continues to inspire people around the world.

Bringing together local schools, musicians, artists and the wider community, this joyful afternoon celebrates Saint Francis through music, art, prayer and shared reflection in the beautiful surroundings of  The Monastery.

Children from St Francis Primary School and Sacred Heart Primary School will join together to form a procession to the Monastery, carrying flowers and the historic St Francis school banner before presenting artwork, offerings and prayers inspired by Saint Francis.

The celebration also includes music from Fr Kevin, performances by the Nigerian Choir, and the presentation of a special painting by local artist Rev. Fay Barratt, created to commemorate this significant anniversary.

Open to people of all faiths and none, everyone is warmly welcome to join this uplifting community celebration.
