The Queen’s Joust

Background information:

Join us at Leeds Castle for our medieval jousting event this May bank holiday 2026 for an exhilarating display of combat and action, elegant and unusual equestrian, and medieval living and feasting.

Gasp as lances crash, cheer for your champion, and watch as England, France, and Norway battle for the coveted cup—and the queen’s favour. If you’re looking for things to do in Kent with a dramatic twist, we’ll see you in the crowd.

In true jousting event tradition, victory isn’t guaranteed by skill alone. If the queen deems a knight unworthy, she may choose another. Armour, charm, and honour all play their part. You just need to provide the applause.

This year, we’re thrilled to welcome back a tri-nation competition, with English, Norwegian and French teams battling for the Leeds Castle International Cup!

Catch the action twice daily at 1 PM & 3:30 PM and witness the drama unfold. If you’re enjoy seeing it even the once on the Saturday, you’ll want to come back on Sunday and Monday too. An unmissable event for your bank holiday planning.
